I've got a dimmed 640m, suspected the inverter, changed it, but the same.
I presume the inverters are ok, cables look ok, no changes on screen when blending, pressing cables socket nor tft
It could be a cut in the white and pink wires from the inverter to the backlight or the backlight defective.
The symptom is the same, very dimmed screen, but no changes when I move/flip/press the screen, no horizontal lines nor blacked out bottom third, nor weird colors
I'll check the pink and white wires tomorrow and order a replacement TFT if they are ok, I'll tell you later...
Lot of good information on this thread, you cleared me a lot of doubts, thanks a lot Fred and others

Ps, I think the "DO NOT TOUCH" notice is cause the contacts of the LCD matrix is just under the top white protection, and very fragile thin soldered contacts on blend material, not from having mercury on top! (I've dismantled the whole TFT just to see if something wrong was visible...)

Looking for a way to get concise results for list of machines:
\\machine1 has been up for: 2 day(s), 13 hour(s), 42 minute(s), 59 second(s)
\\machine2 has been up for: 1 day(s), 21 hour(s), 25 minute(s), 50 second(s)
\\machine3 has been up for: 41 day(s), 0 hour(s), 28 minute(s), 24 second(s)

Etc.

I am currently doing:

     for /F %%M in (.\registerlist.txt) do uptime %%M

output to a log file but there is a lot blank space included. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hmmm, uptime.exe (v1.0.0.1) ran fine for me on Win2008 64-bit 2/SP2 as admin, even while using the /s and /a switches, and even when in both C:\ and C:\Windows\System32\! I didn't even need to provide command prompt elevation!

I believe I had problems on Win2003 64-bit, but I don't have any of those servers left to test on.
